Threaded Electromagnetic Flowmeter

Compact electromagnetic flow measurement for small-diameter process lines—this flowmeter features direct threaded pipe connections (NPT/BSP/G-thread) from DN15 to DN80, eliminating flange welding and reducing installation costs by 40-60% compared to flanged alternatives. Unlike wafer-style meters requiring bolt-up assembly or insertion types needing welded mounting bases, threaded connection enables rapid deployment in tight spaces typical of OEM equipment, pilot plants, skid-mounted systems, and instrumentation panels—delivering ±0.5% accuracy with tool-free installation in minutes rather than hours
  • Pipe Diameter: DN6 ~ DN100
  • Thread Standards: NPT, BSP, G-thread (ISO 228)
  • Flow Accuracy: ±0.5% of reading (±1.0% optional)
  • Velocity Range: 0.3 – 10 m/s
  • Pressure: 1.6 MPa (standard) | 4.0 MPa (optional)
  • Protection: IP65 (standard) | IP67/IP68 (optional)

Professional Small-Bore Metering Without the Flanged Meter Cost

Four reasons threaded connection outperforms flanged flowmeters for small-diameter applications

Install in Minutes With Standard Pipe Wrenches—No Welding Required

Standard NPT, BSP, or G-thread connections enable installation using only pipe wrenches and PTFE tape—no orbital welding, no flange alignment, no torque procedures. For OEM panel builders, skid fabricators, and pilot plant engineers, installation time drops from 2-4 hours (flanged meters with welding) to 15-20 minutes per meter. Particularly valuable when installing multiple meters in tight instrumentation spaces.

  • 90% faster installation compared to welded flange connections

Fit Into Confined Spaces Where Flanged Meters Cannot

Compact threaded body occupies 60-70% less axial space than equivalent flanged flowmeters. Total installed length typically 100-150mm versus 200-300mm for flanged designs. Critical advantage in densely packed instrumentation panels, skid-mounted process equipment, mobile systems, and retrofit applications where available straight-pipe is limited. Threaded unions on both sides enable easy removal for service.

  • Reduces required installation space by 40-50% versus flanged alternatives

Reduce Procurement and Installation Costs for Small-Bore Applications

For pipe sizes DN6-DN100, threaded flowmeters eliminate flange material costs, welding labor, flange alignment time, and bolt/gasket inventory. Total installed cost—including meter, fittings, and labor—runs 40-60% lower than flanged alternatives at these sizes. When equipping pilot plants, sampling systems, or multi-point measurement arrays, cost advantage compounds significantly across multiple installation points.

  • 40-60% lower total installed cost for DN6-DN100 pipe sizes

Deploy Across Global Markets With Multiple Thread Standard Options

Available in NPT (North American standard), BSP/BSPT (British standard pipe thread), and G-thread ISO 228 (European/Asian metric thread). Enables specification compatibility across international projects without custom adapter fabrication. Single meter design serves global OEM customers, multinational facilities, and export-oriented equipment manufacturers requiring thread standard flexibility.

Critical Installation Requirements

1. Straight Pipe Requirements

  • Minimum: 5D upstream, 3D downstream (D = nominal pipe diameter)
  • Recommended: 10D upstream, 5D downstream for optimal accuracy
  • After bends, valves, or pumps: increase to 15-20D upstream when possible

2. Pipe Support

  • Mandatory for DN32 and larger: Independent pipe support within 300mm of flowmeter
  • Thread connections not designed to support pipe weight or thermal expansion loads
  • Use spring hangers for systems with significant thermal cycling

3. Air Elimination

  • Install flowmeter on upward-sloping or horizontal pipe sections
  • Avoid high points where air can accumulate
  • Provide air venting upstream if process contains entrained gas

4. Flow Direction

  • Flow arrow on body must align with process flow direction
  • Reversed flow will cause negative readings and measurement error
  • Bi-directional models available for applications with flow reversal

5. Grounding

  • Electrical continuity between fluid and flowmeter body essential
  • For conductive fluids in metal pipe: ground via mounting or dedicated lug
  • For non-conductive pipe or high-purity fluids: may require grounding rings or electrodes

6. Thread Sealant Selection

Avoid:

  • Teflon tape containing metal (stainless/copper) on electrical threads
  • Excessive sealant that can contaminate process fluid
  • Thread sealants incompatible with process chemistry
